Proposal for actions and activities aimed at the space sector to encourage students of earth and exact sciences courses

With few young people pursuing careers in math and science, there is a shortage of
qualified professionals working in aerospace S&T. However, there are strong indications
that it is possible to reverse this situation through innovative educational initiatives, some
already being implemented around the world. Believing that betting on young people is
creating alternatives for a different world, several entities, public or private, in different
countries, turned to the search for motivational and low-cost projects. The purpose of this
work is to conceive and disseminate a set of more suitable and viable activities for a
vocational space project in Brazil. To this end, it proposes to study teaching activities
with basic spatial theories and more dynamic classroom practices, using successful
examples from around the world. The methodology of bibliographic research was used,
in the search for countries that use methodologies focused on the STEAM activity, and
oriented to the stimulation of curiosity, from a new learning approach, which value the
multidisciplinarity in the classroom, as well as use practices in workshops focused on the
hands-on activity. Bibliographic research was also used, in the search to better understand
the first Brazilian space vocational center and its space workshops. It is intended to
propose short, medium and long-term activities that arouse students' interest in space
science and related technologies, focused on astronomy and space exploration. The work
is divided into five chapters: The first consists of an introduction; The second chapter
consists of a theoretical foundation, approaching the space and segments systems, the
STEAM model as a more dynamic and interesting tool, as well as types of management
model that support projects of this nature; The third chapter consists of a bibliographical
review, approaching the human desire to explore space and how this can be done, and
also presents successful initiatives around the world, as well as the approach of some
historical expenditures, in science and technology. , and formal and informal education;
The fourth chapter presents a succinct proposal of how the author intends to consolidate
the ideas raised and propose a solution to the problem; The fifth and last chapter shows
the updated schedule, referring to the activities carried out until the qualification activity.
