Transmitter module using Polar Code for Cubesat Payloads
Polar Codes. CubeSat. Firmware. GOLDS. SBCDA.
The Brazilian Environmental Data Collector System (SBCDA in Portuguese) has systems which date from 1990’s with SCD-1 launch. Many progress was reached in update the space segment, like Data Collector Subsystem miniaturization in a Transponder DCS and
next the digital update from Transponder in a standard payload for future CubeSats, the Environmental Data Collector - EDC. Now, a paradigm change about the system has a global and open coverage by updating the links protocols, the Global Open coLlector Data
System - GOLDS. In this sense, a transmitter module for EDC it is being developed for realize the downlink from satellites with ground stations. This new communication link has changes on carrier frequency, new protocol, other signal modulation and uses polar channel codification. To make this possible, it will be necessary a improvment in EDC’s firmware architecture to realizes the new features of EDC downlink with ground stations proposed for the GOLDS.
