SUMMARY:

This text presents a test plan for a radio frequency receiver, built as an environmental data receiver, the Environmental Data Collector (EDC). The tested parameters were: bandwidth, linearity, spurious, noise figure, phase noise and efficiency in signal decoding. The Brazilian Environmental Data Collection System (SBCDA) is a satellite message forwarding system. For twenty years, the Brazilian Environmental Data Collection System (SBCDA) has provided information for various researches, however, it needs updating. The Brazilian National Institute for Space Research is developing a constellation of CubeSat to replace the current SBCDA's satellites. The CubeSat will take EDC as a payload. To validate the EDC, a test plan was developed to assess whether the prototype built is in accordance with the desired specifications. A test's bench was built equipped with a computer, with the test software, a signal generator, a voltage source and an Arduino. The spectral analysis, from the digitized signal, was used for the RF-Front-End tests and the calculation of the Frame Error Rate was used for the validation of the decoder module. The EDC prototype was approved, based on the results obtained, however, some corrections were suggested.
