SUMMARY:

Introduction:Early detection and intervention of hearing loss has a substantial positive impact on children's development. Parents and guardians play an extremely important role in the identification ofhearing disorders in their children in the first years of life. Objective: To analyze the acceptance and usability of an application(app) as a technological solution for monitoring children's hearing and language. Method:This is an observational study,including two phases and with a descriptive prospective design. It will be carried out from July to December 2022 and a quantitative of 3060 families from São Paulo and Rio Grande do Norte is expected, in three municipalities in São Paulo and one in the state of Rio Grande doNorte. In phase 1, the assessment of prior knowledge in hearing health will be carried out and in phase 2, the analysis of usability and satisfaction of the app by families. The data will beanalyzed through descriptive and inferential analysis, with appropriate tests depending on the normality of the data and a significant p-value at 0.05. Expected results:It is expected to evaluate the acceptance and usability of an application as an auxiliary tool for the family in the monitoring of auditory and language development, as well as to discover the influence of the level of previous knowledge in hearing health in the adherence to the monitoring with the use of the app.
