SUMMARY:

Introduction: In Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) auditory perceptual difficulties are observed that can impact the learning process, in addition to social aspects, requiring intervention. The remote microphone (MR) is an assistive technology that has been studied in this population, for bring benefits in auditory skills, auditory perception and behavioral aspects. Objectives: Study 1 - To Map the scientific studies on the use of RM and the improvement in speech perception in children and adolescents with ASD. Study 2 - To study the influence of the use of RM in the school context of children and adolescents with ASD. Methodology: Study 1: scope review registered in the OSF. The search will be in Pubmed, Embase, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs, PsycoInfo, Google Scholar and ProQuest databases and reference list, following the JBI protocol. Study 2: Prospective intervention study of a case series. Formed by a convenience sample in schools in the metropolitan region of Natal, composed of an experimental and control group, of preschoolers, diagnosed or not with ASD. Pre and post OAE intervention, click ABR at 80 dB NA, frequency following response (FFR) will be carried out, and teachers and parents will answer the CHAPS questionnaire. The intervention with RM will take place for eight weeks in the classroom, for two hours daily. Expected Results: It is expected to show whether the use of RM improves the auditory and behavioral aspects of individuals with ASD in the classroom.
