RESUMO:

Over the centuries, the act of giving birth has undergone several transformations. A domestic process, accompanied only by women, whose main subject was the parturient, was hospitalized, medicalized, accompanied by health professionals and led by the figure of the doctor. Along with the technological advances responsible for institutionalizing childbirth and birth, there have been negative changes in parturient care due to the loss of their autonomy, such as violent acts such as dehumanized treatment and pathologization of natural processes. The issue in question has social relevance justified by addressing issues related to the deprivation of human rights, especially issues related to women, as well as discussing phenomena inherent to the health work process, as well as illustrating the need for effective public and health policies. in control of this problem. Objective: To understand the level of understanding of postpartum women about the concept of Obstetric Violence, as well as the identification of violent acts. Method: This will be a descriptive, exploratory and qualitative research to be developed at Januário Cicco Maternity School with women who have given birth in this institution and are in the immediate postpartum period. Previously, the study will be submitted to a Research Ethics Committee, in compliance with Resolution 446/2012. The data will be collected between December 2019 and January 2020 and will be coded and analyzed using the Content Analysis Technique, according to Bardin. Results: It is expected to identify the multiple factors that generate obstetric violence, to suggest measures to combat this problem, to contribute to the knowledge on the subject in question, to motivate the creation of specific protocols that eradicate the occurrence of violent events, to improve the supply of good practices in childbirth care for women and families. As a technological product resulting from the study, it is planned to develop a practical guide on good practices in labor on the rights of parturient women and practices contraindicated during their parturition.
