RESUMO:

The study “the myth of the cave today: Life history of ostomized homeless people treated by CRA-RN” has the condition of “living” in the street as a primordial procedure to rethink the relationship between ostomized health users and resulting developments. The stoma is an opening of any hollow viscera through the body, in different situations, receiving specific denominations, according to the segment to be exteriorized; may be temporary or definitive. When this exteriorization occurs in some segment of the intestine, to eliminate feces or secretions, we call it colostomy (opening in the colon) and ileostomy (opening in the ileum). The impact of the stoma emotionally and physically affects the lives of these users. Aiming to reflect on this impact, the present study will seek, through life narratives, to rescue their experiences from the beginning of the street experience until the moment of use of the colostomy. This is an exploratory, descriptive study with a qualitative approach, which aims to analyze narratives of ostomized homeless people seen at the Adult Rehabilitation Center / CRA of a state in northeastern Brazil, who are homeless and propose improvements. in the attention given aiming at integral care, overcoming stigmas and prejudices. Knowing the reasons that led homeless people to “choose” the street as “housing”, we will seek people assisted at CRA who can talk about the experience of the streets and interpersonal relationships in these communities. As well, analyze how they perceive interpersonal relationships and experiences after ostomy. The data will be collected in two moments: documentary research carried out in the CRA attendance forms, from September to October 2019; and interviews guided by the thematic oral history approach, conducted with homeless people assisted by the CRA, between September and October 2019. For the organization and categorization of the interview data, construction of diagrams and memos, it will be used, as a technological tool, Atlas ti software, version 7.1.8. For data analysis, thematic content analysis will be used. The research project will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.
