Training workshops are strategies for promoting continuing education for professionals, on various topics such as the use of electronic patient records. Therefore, this work aimed to create a training workshop for medical professionals to use the patient's electronic medical record (PEP). Among the 16 teachers who work at the teaching clinic of the Escola Multicampi de Ciências Médicas do RN at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Caicó/RN, 10 participated in the training workshop. The workshop took place in three moments: Pre-workshop, using Mentimeterâ on the previous perception of the patient's electronic medical record; Workshop: hands-on using the SigSaúde system and then the post-workshop with discussion and use of the manual on the SigSaúde system. The workshop was evaluated using a health educational content validation instrument (IVCES) and, according to the teachers, it achieved its objective, being an effective validated pedagogical tool that provides an understanding of the Electronic Patient Record (IVC>80%). It is concluded that the medical teachers, after the training workshop, acquired technological skills and the PEP was adhered to and implemented in the outpatient practice routine of the teaching clinic, contributing to the teaching-learning process in medical training.
