SUMMARY:

The present study aims to investigate the use of comic books, adapted from science fiction stories, as a pedagogical tool for teaching the Second Law of Thermodynamics to second-year high school students, contributing to the diversification of strategies within this educational approach. The research is based on the premise that creative and differentiated pedagogical strategies are essential to overcome the difficulties students face in learning Physics and to promote a deeper and more contextualized understanding of scientific concepts. The theoretical foundation of the study includes Vygotsky's contributions to Cultural Mediation, the Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD), and Social Learning. The methodology encompasses the development of a specific didactic

sequence for the use of comic books, the evaluation of this resource’s effectiveness in students’ understanding, the measurement of student engagement, and the application of problem-solving situations based on the narratives to test the practical application of the concepts learned.

The expected results include a greater theoretical and practical understanding of the Second Law of Thermodynamics, increased student engagement, and the validation of comic books as an effective didactic tool. This study aims to contribute to the literature on strategic methodologies for teaching physics, providing valuable insights into the application of visual and narrative resources in the educational context. The research seeks not only to enhance students' understanding of the concepts related to the Second Law of Thermodynamics but also to provide teachers with a powerful tool to make physics teaching more attractive and meaningful.
