PROPOSAL FOR TEACHING ACIDS AND BASES BASED ON THE THEME "WATER"
water; Three Pedagogical Moments; acids and bases; chemistry teaching
This study aims to design and implement a didactic sequence on acids and bases, using the theme of “water” as an integrating axis. The didactic sequence is structured based on the Three Pedagogical Moments (3PM) methodology, seeking to promote a contextualized, critical, and reflective learning process. The research has a qualitative approach and descriptive character. It will be conducted with first-year high school students at a public school located in the municipality of São Miguel do Gostoso, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. The choice of the theme was motivated by real problems faced by the local community, particularly concerning water quality and basic sanitation. Data collection will be carried out through questionnaires and field diaries, with data analysis grounded in Content Analysis methodology. It is expected that, in addition to the appropriation of the chemical concepts of acids and bases, students will develop greater socio-environmental awareness, recognizing the role of chemistry in understanding and seeking solutions to local problems, especially those related to water quality and sustainability.
