School meals in the teaching of biomolecules: a teaching unit based on the three pedagogical moments.
The three pedagogical moments; school meals; Teaching Unit; Biomolecules
Teaching strategies have evolved over the years with the aim of improving the teaching-learning process. A Teaching Unit is a set of activities and pedagogical resources designed to teach content in a progressive and integrated manner, which is essential in the planning and development of a course or subject. It enables organized, coherent, and high-quality instruction, allowing for necessary adjustments during its implementation. This work aims to design and implement a Teaching Unit to provide Chemistry teachers—and especially high school students—with didactic material that addresses concepts related to biochemistry, using the daily composition of school meals as contextual support. As a theoretical framework, the theory of the three pedagogical moments proposed by Delizoicov and Angotti will be used, with the school meal serving as a contextual reference integrated into the daily lives of high school students at the Senador Dinarte Mariz State School during regular school activities. The Teaching Unit, titled “School Meals in the Teaching of Biomolecules,” will be applied to a morning class of third-year regular high school students in the year 2025. The activities will span ten lessons, divided into five distinct tasks. The results will be analyzed using Bardin's content analysis method.
