SUMMARY:

This research is based on generational encounters between elderly residents and children in the rural area of the Sabugi Irrigated Perimeter, Villages I and II in the municipality of Caicó in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, with the aim of strengthening emotional ties and identity with the territory. The study considers this space as a territory marked by collective memories and family ties intertwined over several generations. Given this, the choice of this location is justified by the researcher's emotional ties. The Irrigated Perimeter is a community created by the National Department of Works Against Drought (DNOCS), carrying a rich history and countless remarkable events, which are part of the construction of the identity of the subjects who are in the community. As an educational product, the creation of a comic book that addresses the experiences and memories of the residents is proposed. In general, this work aims to value local knowledge and stimulate intergenerational dialogue, so that the experiences of the elderly in Villages I and II enable residents and students to become closer to their territory and experiences, stimulating a new emotional bond that allows the new generation to better understand the teaching-learning process about their identities and their place in the world.
