SUMMARY:

This research aims to study the hydrological cycle and its management in the municipality of Cruzeta-RN, with a special focus on its pedagogical approach in the early years of elementary school. The study is justified by the urgent need to develop environmental awareness among students, particularly in semiarid regions where water scarcity represents a structural challenge. The work is based on the recognition that geographical education can play a fundamental role in the formation of citizens who are aware of their relationship with natural resources. The general objective is to produce an educational video about the water cycle in Cruzeta, integrating aspects of local water management, its impacts on the population's quality of life, and strategies for coping with drought. The methodology adopted combines bibliographic research, documentary analysis of legislation and curricular proposals, and field investigation through questionnaires applied to teachers and students. The approach integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to understand both the physical aspects of the water cycle and its social and educational dimensions. As a final product, we propose the creation of an educational video that will serve as a pedagogical resource for teachers and learning material for students. We hope that this work will contribute to expanding knowledge about local water dynamics, strengthening environmental education in schools in the municipality of Cruzeta, and providing support for public water management policies, in addition to establishing connections between academic knowledge and the reality experienced by students. The results aim to demonstrate how contextualized audiovisual resources can enhance the teaching of Geography and the formation of environmental awareness from the early years of basic education.
