SUMMARY:

The imagination performs an important role on the day of the people and it has been used in different situations that goes from explaining directions until creating narratives. Within this context, games are widely explored as a form of entertainment among friends, family, or on digital platforms. Given this relevance, establishing a connection between imagination, games, and education through methodological teaching-learning approaches becomes essential in contemporary schools. Geography naturally relates to these elements; however, many educators still adhere to traditional teaching methods focused on the mere transmission of knowledge, without considering the introduction of creative languages that also promote learning. This work proposes the development of the game "Geo Stories" as an innovative approach for teaching and learning geographic concepts and content, using thematic puzzles. Moreover, it aimed to explore the importance of games with educational purposes in Geography teaching and investigate how the Theory of Meaningful Learning, the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, and Active and Cooperative Methodologies relate to the use of games as a pedagogical tool. The adopted methodology included a literature review on the relationship between games and Geography teaching, highlighting the relevance of the mentioned learning theories and methodologies. The content on Globalization was chosen as the central theme of the lectures and, consequently, of the game. With the lesson plan developed, the game was applied in the classroom and subsequently evaluated at all its stages. Despite the challenges faced, the game proved effective in achieving its objectives, consolidating the learning on Globalization in an interactive and active manner, promoting interaction between students, the teacher, and the content.
