TEACH GEOGRAPHY: CONTENTS CONCEPTUAL, PROCEDURAL And ATTITUDINAL
Teaching Geography; typology of content, teaching strategies.
We start from the perspective of the National Curriculum Parameters (PCNs) for Elementary Education, by highlighting that one of the Geography teaching limitations is to focus excessively on the conceptual content, often abstract, so that end up generating the lack of interest of students. The document draws attention to the need to teach beyond the conceptual contents, procedures and attitudes, in a logic of Education and Geography teaching to promote the comprehensive training in order to contribute to the critical awareness and the development of citizenship. In this context, we investigate some state schools Christmas, using the interviews and questionnaires in order to meet the diversity of situations in these areas and understand the reality and practices of geography teachers. Our goal is that at the end of this diagnosis can present some methodological strategies used in teaching geography, able to contribute to the teaching of conceptual, procedural and attitudinal content; as recommended by the NCPs.
