A datalake architecture for seismology of the brazilian nord-east region: Digital curadory and governance for seirmic data
Data Lake, Seismology, Brazilian Northeast, Seismic Monitoring.
This work proposes the development of a Seismology Data Lake for Northeast Brazil. The
initiative aims to establish a centralized repository that will be periodically updated with
data generated by seismological stations operated by the Seismology Laboratory of the
Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (LabSis/UFRN). The proposed architecture is
designed to optimize LabSis’s workflow by providing unified management of seismic data
acquisition, storage, and analysis stages. The Data Lake implementation will facilitate the
consolidation and organization of heterogeneous data, enable integrated analyses and data
visualization, and support the automated generation of informational bulletins on seismic
events. Thus, this work aims to enhance monitoring and alert capabilities, contributing to
the prevention and mitigation of seismic impacts in the region. The tool’s development will
follow the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reusability),
ensuring that the data remain Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable.
