CONCERTINO “CHEIRO DA TERRA” FOR CLARINET AND BAND: Strategies for building interpretation beyond technical challenges

he work in question, written in 2005, dedicated to the author of this research, was composed during the composer's stay with the Banda Filarmônica 24 de Outubro in the city of Cruzeta/RN, in a phase of compositional experimentation. The theoretical basis for a technical preparation process suggestion for the piece is based on the works of ARAÚJO (2016), SILVA (2021), CAMPIONE (2001), LIMA (2006) and BONADE (2022). The reflections on the interpretative aspects were conducted based on a comparison between two performances of the work, made by the author of this research at different times (2005 and 2023), having as support the works of SLOBODA (1985), CARVALHO (2021), LABOISSIÈRRE (2003) and ABDO (2000).The musical experiences of the performer and the composer, which are related to each other, are also part of this study, as they contribute to the understanding and consequent production of sound in the production of the piece.
