CONCERTO FOR FAGOTE AND ORCHESTRA OF DANILO GUANAIS: A TECHNICAL-INTERPRETATIVE APPROACH
Brazilian Music, Bassoon, Armorial, Study strategies
The present research has as main objective to investigate technical-interpretative aspects of the Concerto for bassoon and orchestra of Danilo Guanais that are important for the study and performance of the work. Through the analysis of the compositional techniques and procedures used by the composer and the implicit information to the musical text, we will seek to obtain subsidies to support technical-interpretative decisions that will be suggested for the bassoon part.Danilo Guanais is currently one of the main composers of Rio Grande do Norte, with compositions such as the Mass and the Passion according to Licorice reaching the national and international music scene (PEREIRA, 2016). His production includes works for guitar, orchestra, choir, theater and chamber music. The composer uses in a good part of his compositions a methodology that mixes modern compositional procedures with rhythmic, melodic and harmonic elements referring to the armorial music.Methodologically, the research is divided into two parts: first, an interview was made with the composer, a bibliographical survey and the choice and cataloging of the interpretative aspects to be studied; then an analysis of the work was carried out with the intention of elaborating technical-interpretative suggestions for the part of the bassoon. This investigation involving technical-interpretative aspects to the bassoon can help new interpreters in the construction of their performances of this work, as well as other similar works.
