PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES/BODY PRACTICES AND SELF-CARE DURING THE COVID-19 LOCKDOWN IN RIO GRANDE DO NORTE
Physical Activity/Body Practice; Self-Care; Covid-19; Physical Education; Rio Grande do Norte.
The research aimed to discuss Physical Activities/Body Practices (PA/PC) and self-care during the COVID-19 lockdown in Rio Grande do Norte, among undergraduate, master's and doctoral students. This was a descriptive qualitative study, with a semi-structured questionnaire containing closed and open questions. Several Physical Activities/Body Practices were carried out autonomously in homes and in outdoor spaces, with the help of digital platforms, providing those who experienced them with a variety of sensations, both positive (relaxation, well-being, reduced anxiety, etc.) and negative (irritation and pain, for example), showing that these practices represent one part of several actions that can contribute to self-care, in a subjective and singular way, but that, in isolation, they do not guarantee only benefits. This discussion may contribute with new perspectives, implications and other points for Physical Education in unusual contexts.
