This study aimed to compare the insertion of the spouse of the Union military with the spouse of civil workers in the labor market and its effects on household income. For this purpose, the military was analyzed by the legislation that governs them (Law 6.880 / 1980 - which provides for the status of the armed forces), the behavior and the formation of families, as well as the attitudes that the Government can assume to meet the professional and military professional needs. Particular attention has been paid to the reality of the military, who are required to move around cities in function of their craft, which may therefore affect their spouse's work activity. The hypothesis from which it was based is that, given the conditions inherent in the military career, military spouses have more participation outside the occupations than spouses of formal civilian workers, having this strong implication related mainly to migration, the presence of children. , especially small, and military income, which may or may not be aggravated by other factors, such as education, race / color and age. Thus, the variables were extracted from the 2010 Population Census and the methodology used was the multinomial regression model, in two tests, to verify the relationship between military spouses and civil worker spouses, female and male and female. Thus the answer variable will be military spouses and civil workers' spouses in formal employment in both tests with this delimitation. While the explanatory variables also in both sexes were: Federation Unit; Microregion Code; Control; Relationship or relationship with the person responsible for the household; Lives with a spouse or partner; Total live births to July 31, 2010; Age of last child born alive until July 31, 2010; Auxiliary variable of age calculated in years; Color / Race; Instruction level; Occupation; Main job income in number of minimum wages; In that work was; Federation unit and municipality or foreign country of residence before moving to this municipality; Municipality of previous residence; What federation unit you worked for; In which municipality worked and Time of residence in the municipality, thus, it is expected that their results contribute to public policies and assistance, and encourage discussions in the academic field about the insertion of military spouses in the labor market that are impacted by migration together given the scarcity on the topic.
