INTERFACES OF DEMOGRAPHY IN FAMILY LITERACY: ANALYSIS OF PERSONAL NETWORKS IN A RURAL COMMUNITY SCHOOL

This study aims to identify, through the analysis of social networks, the influences of cultural capital and social capital in family literacy, and contributing to the learning of elementary school students. The study needs to understand socio-demographic aspects that surround the population 6-14 years old, assumes that people in the same context may possess cultural capital and social capital that differentiate they in relational practices, interfering in read and write, and that students with better read and write learning are those that have more favorable family literacy environment. The theoretical support focuses on studies that point to the demographic transition as possible benefits generator to the education system, and correlates to social/personal networks due to shares of exchange produced by individuals in the school environment, these reveal which the concepts of cultural capital and capital social as a foundation for understanding the provisions guaranteeing the acquisitions and developments in the practice of family literacy. It is confirmed as a sociodemographic work with action research character, which will be developed in a school in the rural Zone, municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The analysis of social networks of students and their parents is established as the research methodology and brings the opportunity to meet many interests, since the study works in a micro context that dialogue with the macro context.
