This dissertation project has the general objective of identifying the factors associated with morbidity due to COVID-19 in the Brazilian population in July 2020, and the objectives are to analyze the effects of the individual's race/color in relation to other factors associated with COVID 19 morbidity. 19 and the analysis of the association between testing indicators, infection and race/color groups in Brazil. The motivation for the study lies in the need to understand inequalities in COVID-19 morbidity, especially between essential workers, who faced increased risks of exposure, and informal workers, who are predominantly black. As a data source, this project proposes the PNAD COVID19, a representative sample of 349 thousand people and 200 thousand households across the country carried out in Brazilian households from May to November 2020. For this research, it is intended to use only data from the month of July of 2020, which represents the month with the highest number of cases and deaths from COVID-19 that year. To achieve the proposed objectives, a binary logistic regression model is proposed to identify factors associated with morbidity due to COVID-19: race/color, demographic characteristics and occupational characteristics.
