Communication. Titanic (1997). Narratology. Narratives. Love.
Titanic (1997) is a film by director James Cameron that tells the love story of Jack and Rose. The objective of this work is to understand how the 1997 film uses romantic love as a narrative element. This will be possible through the use of Narratology, a science that studies narratives of various types, including audiovisual ones. The origin of romantic love as it is known today dates back to Plato and developed mainly during the Middle Ages. Cinema is considered the seventh art; Created in 1895 by the Lumiére brothers, this technology allows moving stories to be told visually countless times. It is clear that love is a uniquely human creation, historically manipulated according to the interests of the elites.
