CHILDHOOD LGBTIPHOBIA: critical analysis of the violation of the right to free expression of sexuality
Children and adolescents; Sexual rights; Human rights; LGBTI+ Population.
This master’s thesis project has as its research assumption the understanding that the free expression of the sexuality of children and adolescents Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transvestite, Transsexual and intersex and other gender identities (LGBTI+) are violated through non-recognition of sexual rights of this segment at this stage of human development. Thus, sexual and gender diversity is limited by different social institutions - family, school and religion - and does not present itself as a possibility of being and existing for this public. In this sense, we seek to analyze the relationship between the right to free expression of sexuality and the violation of sexual rights suffered by the children and adolescents segment in the context of conservatism reaction from the 2010s in Brazil. To this end, considering the reality of LGBTI+ children and adolescents, we will investigate: how conservatism in Brazil and LGBTIphobic violence are expressed in their lives; what are the main forms of this violence and human rights violations and, finally, based on the understanding that the protection of this public is the duty of the family, the State and society, we will identify in the federal legal provisions for the protection of this segment, as well as in the international regulations to which Brazil is a signatory, how sexual and gender diversity is incorporated. In theoretical-methodological terms, we adopted historical-dialectical materialism method and as an investigation strategy, we will use exploratory research, using a mixed approach (quanti- qualitative), and will be used to produce data the document analysis in professional instruments produced in Centro de Referencia em Direitos Humanos Marcos Dionisio da UFRN (CRDHMD/UFRN), Ministerio de Direitos Humanos e Cidadania (MDHC) and reports from collective civil society organizations on the issue of sexual and gender diversity. Finally, we will carry out a bibliographicl research on Marxist authors in order to understand and articulate the categories of analysis relevant to our research object.
