INFORMATION INTELLIGENCE FOR BUDGET MANAGEMENT: DEVELOPMENT OF A DASHBOARD AS AN ARTIFACT TO SUPPORT DECISION-MAKING IN MARKETING
Information intelligence. Dashboards and business intelligence. Budget management. Health marketing. Supplementary health.
The Brazilian supplementary health sector faces increasing complexity in resource management, requiring information instruments that support evidence-based decision- making. This research aims to analyze how the application of information intelligence principles in dashboard development can optimize budget management decision-making processes in marketing of supplementary health plan operators. The investigation adopts a case study in a large operator located in Rio Grande do Norte, using a mixed-methods approach that combines semi-structured interviews, document analysis, direct observation, and structured questionnaire. Dashboard development follows an incremental process based on information intelligence principles: identification of information needs, source mapping, contextualized processing, targeted dissemination, and impact evaluation. Expected results include a functional budget dashboard prototype, a conceptual model for applying information intelligence to decision support systems, and replicable methodological procedures. Contributions cover theoretical, methodological, and empirical dimensions, bridging Information Science theory and practice while supporting more effective organizational decision-making.
