SUMMARY:

When reflecting on urban space, its construction, its different types of use and intimate relationship with transformative human action, which dynamizes and imprints social realities and at the same time the impositions of capital on the inhabited territory and its uses by capitalist agents hegemonic, we think of an approach that considers the current moment experienced, globally and locally. In this sense, understanding the relevance of the technical-scientific-informational environment for the compression of current processes, related to the dynamics exerted by globalization, we list as the central theme of the research, the territorial dynamics of Natal/RN, thinking about modern commerce based on practices of e-commerce. Following this perspective, the research is divided into two parts: in part I we deal with the territorial dynamics of e-commerce, highlighting the theories that lead us to understanding this spatial dynamics; In part II, we propose working with companies and society, which is why we call it the territorial dynamics of Natal/RN, considering modern commerce based on e-commerce practices. Such ideas to be developed during the research seek to support the following hypothesis that the advancement of technology combined with science and information, represented by modern commerce, reflected by e-commerce practices, influences and transforms the territorial dynamics in the city of Natal/RN. Within this context, we aim to analyze and understand the territorial dynamics of Natal/RN, considering modern commerce reflected from the expansion of e-commerce practices. To achieve this analysis, we highlight the following specific objectives: understanding the territorial dynamics of the city of Natal/RN within the reality of the technical-scientific-informational period; prepare a brief historical review of the territorial dynamics of modern commerce in Natal/RN; understand the territorial dynamics promoted by e-commerce practices in the city of Natal/RN based on its structure and operation; analyze the transformation of modern commerce in the city of Natal/RN, promoted by e-commerce; analyze and explain the expansion of e-commerce practices to the territorial dynamics of Natal/RN; finally, understand how the place-world dialectic is carried out based on organizational and organic events. To support our research, we chose as a theoretical-methodological basis the concepts of used territory and technical-scientific-informational environment, verticalities and horizontalities, technosphere and psychosphere worked by Milton Santos, Arroyo (2020), Venceslau (2019-2020), capitalism of platform from Montenegro (2020) and Pessanha (2020) among others, in addition to contributions from authors such as Manuel Castels, Henri Lefébre, Toledo (2020), Cruz (2021), and authors who work directly with modern commerce and e-commerce , including Stefano and Zatar (2016), Berkhour (2020) and Soares (2020), as well as the issue of e-commerce logistics with Ribeiro (2022). The method chosen for the research is dialectical. While the methodology ranges from bibliographical research, documentary research, statistical data research from primary and secondary sources, field research, treatment and analysis of primary and secondary data. Thus, we seek to defend that the advancement of technology combined with science and information, represented by modern commerce, based on practices promoted by e-commerce, has influenced and transformed the territorial dynamics in the city of Natal/RN.
