THE IMPACT OF THE METAKAOLIN/LIMESTONE RATIO ON THE PRINTABILITY OF LC³-BASED CEMENTITIOUS COMPOSITES
3D printing of concrete. Calcined clay limestone cement. Supplementary cementitious material. Mixture experiments design.
This research aimed to investigate the effect of metakaolin and limestone filler contents on the printability of LC3 mixtures for 3D printing of concrete (3DCP). The study focused on mixtures with high cement replacement in different proportions (ranging from 35% to 45%) and a ratio of 1:3 for metakaolin to limestone filler. The study employed a statistical approach based on optimized experimental planning of mixtures. A water-to-binder ratio of 0.33 and a sand-to-binder ratio of 1.0 were used for all the mixes, and a mix with 100% cement was used as the reference. Printability was evaluated by analyzing extrudability, constructability, pumpability, shape retention, open time, compressive strength, and microstructure.
