The road transport system plays a fundamental role in Brazil, being responsible for the movement of cargo and passengers. In 2023, more than 22 million passengers were transported, decreasing an increase of 18.75% compared to the previous year. In 2022, this means of transport represented approximately 64.7% of the cargo transport matrix. The growing increase in demand highlights the urgency of investing in new projects and maintaining existing roads. As road construction requires a large amount of natural materials, the extraction of which causes considerable environmental liabilities, alternative materials are seen as a solution to minimize damage. Given this need, this work evaluated the support capacity of mixtures of different types of soil in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, associated with waste from an asphalt plant called Graded Brita Asphalt (BGA), with percentages of 10% and 20%, by mass. The work methodology was carried out through characterization, compression, California Bearing Ratio (CBR), X-ray Fluorescence (XRF,) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD) tests, with musical purposes for the use of layered mixtures of subgrade and grade of flexible road pavements. At the end of the study, it was found that four samples with high percentages of sand, in their granulometric composition, in the pure soil condition, and the soil mixture with 20% BGA, all at modified compaction energy, with reuse of material, we obtained considerable gains in support capacity, enabling its use in the base and sub-base structural layers of flexible pavements.
