SUMMARY:

In academic scope, geodiversity still deserves more recognition than studies of the Earth's abiotic
diversity. This approach is relatively recent, starting in the 1990s with global discussions fearing global
climate change. One of the strands that studies and aids knowledge of geodiversity is geopatrimony,
which encompasses a whole range of categories (e.g. geomorphological, mineralogical and paleontological
heritage), functioning as an umbrella concept, with geomorphological heritage being given greater
prominence in research. Geopatrimony evaluation also promotes environmental protection through the
protection of abiotic elements. The promotion of geopatrimony is crucial for the development of
geotourism to publicize and enhance geopatrimony, promoting its appreciation, interpretation and
geoconservation. This work emphasizes the geomorphological heritage of the Paraíba hinterland,
particularly in the municipalities of Imaculada, Maturéia and Teixeira - PB, seeking to highlight the
diversity of geomorphological and associated elements with the aim of evaluating the geomorphological
heritage, in view of the great diversity of granite macro- and micro-forms, whose genesis is associated
with different denudational processes, the surfaces of discontinuities which have various associated
values, whether scientific due to the records of Cenozoic climatic variations and tectonic reactivations
which represent their geomorphological evolution, cultural due to the traditional activities carried out
there, or aesthetic, since they have scenic beauty with potential for the implementation of geotourism
activities aimed at local development. The qualitative inventory of the research consists of a crucial part of
the work, bringing together field and office work, making it important to select and interpret the chosen
geomorphosites, understanding the Geoforms, their genesis and evolution. In this way, this stage of the
research inventoried the Pedra do Tendó site, in the municipality of Teixeira-PB, showing the importance
of conserving this location for better future scientific interpretations and development of the site.
