USE OF PETROLEUM DRILLING GRAVEL IN THE CONFECTION OF CBUQ (BETUMINOUS CONCRETE USED TO HOT)
Oil drilling gravel. Residue. CBUQ. Compressive strength
The oil industry is responsible for a significant amount of waste in its activities, which require treatment prior to disposal. In the process of drilling wells an industrial waste is generated called oil drilling gravel; this is impregnated by the drilling fluid and by contaminants existing in the formation of the rocks. The toxicity classification is obtained from the characterization of the soil. In view of the environmental problems arising from this residue, alternative technologies for the use of this material are sought. Due to the problem, gravel applicability was verified in the civil construction industry, in the manufacture of the CBUQ - Concreto Betuminoso a Quente, widely used for road construction in the country. Technical aspects related to the expected results were established according to current legislation, from tests of resistance to simple compression and diametral traction. The technical and environmental viability of the waste was identified in the production of the product, respecting the application in the surface rolling range in partial substitution of the small aggregate, in the proportion of 10% of drilling gravel and 90% of sand.
