In the oil industry, automation and well control are gaining prominence, since it applies to several methods of artificial elevation, mainly to Sucker-Rod Pumping (SRP). Given this context, in order to improve the monitoring of SRP equipped well susing traditional production tests, and to reduce costs within frastructure, human resources and to improve accuracy in determining production, a technique was developed that could accompany production of the well. In this sense, this work presents a method of calculating volume pumped from the area of the pump dynamometric card. The method described calculates the area, establishing premises such as: leakage, tubing anchored or not, and filling of the pump. The validation of this method, as a calculation of the volume produced, was made by comparing the volume pumped by the area technique and the volume calculated by the Sucker-rod pump Simulator. For the purpose of the results, it was observed that the strategy developed was an important tool when it came to the monitoring, diagnosis and follow-up of SRP production, since the method allows monitoring the wells individuall for possible interventions, problem solving, validation of results and production details. In addition, it shows that conventional production tests can be reduced by using controllers with production calculation techniques from the pump dynamometric card, accompanying the production in real time, reflecting an operational optimization.
