Sporotrichosis is a fungal infection that affects humans and animals, especially cats, caused by fungi of the genus Sporothrix, naturally present in soil and vegetation. In Brazil, Sporothrix brasiliensis, considered the most virulent species and the cause of the most severe cases, has become the main etiological agent, being associated with feline sporotrichosis and transmission to humans through scratches and bites. In Rio Grande do Norte, the State Department of Public Health has identified human cases related to animals since 2016, with evidence of the disease spreading in the state. As this is an emerging disease, there is a lack of knowledge among health professionals regarding strategies for combating it in the territory, especially in the context of Primary Health Care (PHC). In this context, this study aims to develop and validate an educational booklet designed to guide health professionals on how to combat sporotrichosis in PHC. This is a methodological study with a quantitative approach, developed in three stages: theoretical, empirical, and analytical. The theoretical stage will support the construction of the material through a scope review of strategies for coping with the disease. In the empirical stage, the content and appearance will be validated by expert judges in the field, followed by semantic validation with the target audience through brainstorming. Finally, in the analytical stage, statistical calculations will be performed using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and the Kappa Coefficient (k) to corroborate the validation of the educational technology. The study will follow the principles of Resolution No. 466/2012 of the National Health Council and will be submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte.
