SUMMARY:

The environmental impacts resulting from processes in the textile industry have driven the development of techniques and products aimed at reducing environmental contamination, particularly through effluents. In this context, the use of alternative filters has gained attention. This study proposes the utilization of spent coffee grounds as natural filters with the capacity to adsorb dye particles and certain chemical compounds present in industrial effluents. The coffee grounds will be evaluated both in their raw form and as ashes obtained through calcination at temperatures of 200°C, 300°C, 350°C, and 400°C. The samples will be analyzed and characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-Ray Fluorescence, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), UV-Vis Spectroscopy, Stereoscopy, and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) techniques, allowing for the determination of the composition and properties of the materials under study. Furthermore, an adsorption evaluation will be conducted for acid, disperse, and reactive blue dyes commonly found in textile effluents. The creation of a product derived from residual biomass offers an innovative, cost-effective, and impactful solution, particularly within the industrial sector.
