PAGES: 114
BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Educação Física
SUMMARY:

Games play an important role in ensuring the exercise of vital functions such as
mental representations, which are the main ability that differentiates us from other
animals and ensures the construction of our culture. It is through games that we
begin our relationship with the world of culture, which is developed and expanded
throughout life. Therefore, we must value their presence in schools so that they
can contribute to the various expressions of the body culture of movement and
consequently enable the comprehensive education of students. The objective of
this research is to develop and apply a teaching unit with the content of board
games in High School Physical Education classes to diversify the content worked
on and to verify whether students consider them as a relevant alternative for
classes given the problem of the lack of adequate physical space to carry out
practical activities. The school where the study will be developed is a public
school located in the urban area of the city of Taperoá-PB. This teaching unit will
be applied in the 3rd two-month period of the 2024 school year, during 14 45-
minute classes, with students enrolled in the 2nd year of high school at the Félix
Daltro State Elementary and High School. Data collection will be carried out
based on the execution of the teaching unit, and information will be collected
through the application of a questionnaire and the recording of a conversation
circle with the students and the teacher's logbook. This will be a qualitative
research that will use content analysis to analyze the data through the
categorization technique, which will be carried out through three basic stages:
pre-analysis, analytical description, and inferential interpretation. The study will be
carried out based on action research, which seeks as a result the diversification of
content in Physical Education classes, greater appreciation and participation in
classes of this subject, and expanding the practice of board games beyond
Physical Education classes, allowing students to use them in their daily lives.
