Ementa/Descrição: Scientific Writing’ course has the primary goal to develop the scientific writing skills in order to be successful in publishing peer-reviewed papers. The course is designed to help the students interactively write the sections of the manuscript with feedback from faculty mentors along the way. Learning Objectives: Students will not only be able to describe strategies and fundamental principles for effective writing, but also apply the principles of writing a research manuscript by composing and editing the sections of a scientific paper. Each week there will be a lecture for all the students to review the key principles from the week’s assignments and to discuss questions. Then, students, divided into small groups, will participate in writing workshops, working together with a faculty member to write, edit, and discuss their progress. Students are expected to present their final manuscript at the end of the course.
